Almost 40 Urgent Prayer Ministers have been commissioned and have promised to receive prayer requests and promptly pray for the person in need. Requests are sent by text message or email to olopurgentprayer@gmail.com. This account is monitored by Cheryl and John Hewitt, and when a message is received, a text message is promptly sent through Flocknote to the Urgent Prayer Ministers. A typical request would be “Please pray for Sam, who is undergoing emergency surgery.” The Urgent Prayer Ministers are encouraged to attend the First Saturday Mass, which is usually followed by fellowship in the hall that sometimes includes a talk or presentation.
